Hey all

Question for those in London again, or those who know. Bit different to my original travel topic...

Anywho, at the end of the European leg of my trip, I need to head to Canada. Now im assuming my cheapest option would be to get a flight out from London (any other suggestions feel free to list).

Which airline would be best to look at for cheapest prices?

Any info is much appreciated

cheers

The better half and I flew from Heathrow Airport to Toronto via Air Canada last month. Can't fault the service that I experienced. I phoned around and also did the usual price comparison sites and eventually Dialaflight got me the best deal.
As we know, it's a hard one to call as it depends what deals and seats are available etc for the dates that you want to travel.

@amawanqa
thanks for the info...

I hear its a little more expensive to fly to Vancouver (which is where im going) than it is to say Calgary or Montreal

Would be looking around Nov 20, and its a one way!

Montreal to Vancouver is something like 4/5 hours if I'm not mistaken!

You'd be best off looking at flights from http://www.canadianaffair.com, though it wouldn't hurt to search through Kayak, lastminute.com, travelocity or Opodo.

They got me from Gatwick to Toronto for £450 return back in April, so it'd probably be about the same price to Vancouver in November.
Flying on a Thomas Cook Airlines plane, which was a bit old, but good enough for the price!
Plus a free upgrade to premium because the flight was oversold and I'd volunteered earlier on..

Just out of curiosity, you're aware of the conditions of flying into Canada on a one way ticket?

@arien617
Thanks for the info... Great to have some sites to keep my eye on Obviously id look to be booking the flight online!

RE the conditions of flying into Canda on a one way, not really, but ive been granted a 2yr work visa there so I am fairly sure I wont need a flight out

Should be fine then, they may still want to see proof of funds, so a heads up.

I know they definitely want to see either a return ticket or enough money to buy a return ticket when entering Canada on a 1 year IEC visa.. probably should check.

Might be an idea to buy a fully refundable ticket just in case, then cancel it once you're through!

they require at least $4000aud. Which wont be an issue...

Doesnt mention anything about a flight out. Just the 4k and travel insurance!

Air Transat and Thompson fly out of Gatwick and are really cheap most of the time. Their service is terrible and their seats are cramped, but if you're on a budget, it works. Cheaper than BA and AC most of the time. I worked in Canada/lived in Canada for a while and am in the UK now, been back and forth many times with many friends in and out of London to visit as well. Sometimes AC has sales to Paris (CDG) as well, which you can consider as well, but doubt it'll be cheaper than flying out of gatwick, which can be C$400 return at times including taxes.
