> Jobs on a container ship
Bookmark topic
So I've got a long summer coming up, alongside the regular retail jobs etc, I was thinking about working on a container ship.
I can get in about 10 weeks of work before having to leave for university (uncertain, still), which should be a decent period, right?
Any advice on how to go about doing this? The only company with a straightforward application process seems to be Hapag-Lloyd, but they don't list any low-level unskilled positions on that part of the site.
I've submitted an application anyway to see if I can get some sort of response out of them, but it's hugely unlikely that an offer of employment would stem from that.
A good command of English seems to be a prerequisite, and I have 3 passports, letting me into most countries visa free, which should be a bonus. Also a strong swimmer.. that's definitely a requirement.
And I would be willing to undertake any first aid courses etc. should an offer be made.
I'm sure somebody on here must have done this in their younger days!
All advice would be appreciated, thanks!
