> Which Android phone has the best video recording?

It's been a while since this topic has been discussed, and I'm not sure there's even been a thread purely about Android devices.
I've been searching the best possible video-recording phone for ages now. Trying various phones along the way has left a trail of disappointments.
I tried the Vivaz Pro, which tought me that I really really don't like Symbian. (I kinda knew that upfront though, but I want a phone with good video-recording so bad that I took the chance anyway). Furthermore, the videos Vivaz recorded had way too low audio volume, and that's simply unacceptable.
I've looked at Nokia N8, but frankly Symbian 3 is very unimpressive judging from the review videos at YouTube. Otherwise it seems to have excellent video recording, including videos in dark surroundings and with a good sound level. A shame about Symbian 3. (I don't suppose it's hackable so we can put Android on it?)
So recently I bought the Xperia Neo and thought that
now I'd finally get what I'd been looking for so long. But no.
Just like the Vivaz Pro, audio is recorded way too low, and I'm left disappointed yet again. (Although it can be fixed with a post normalize filter, but that's simple not good enough).
At this point I at least
know it has to be an Android device. So which Android device, in your opinion, has the best video-recording abilities today?
Minimum requirements nowadays, should be decent results in dark surroundings without use of a LED.

It's not that black and white, yes SGS2 records and 1080p compared to 720p, however the arc has continual auto focus. It also needs to be seen how the sensor picks up the light and how the colours are, etc.

I'm curious whether anyone will work out ohow to hack out the audio drivers like has been done with A200.
Then a Neo might be an option.

Definitely. If the audio was louder in videos recorded by Arc/Neo/Ray, then those models would definitely be my choice.
That's why I
asked the question at XDA-Developers, but no one has replied.
I've also
complained on Sony Ericsson's board. You could go there to support the thread.
But looking at the history of Vivaz / Vivaz Pro, which was even worse and which never got a fix, I don't believe for a second that Sony Ericsson will fix this issue with Arc/Neo/Ray either. It's just not their style.
I've also been chatting a bit with people at #android-root, freenode. They tell me that one possible option might the custom android firmware thingy called
Cyanogen. Unfortunately there's no official version for Arc/Neo/Ray, but there might be an unofficial port.

Though it's not Android, I think the Nokia N9 running the MeeGo OS might be a good choice.
The samples from the prototype unit show huge potential and I thing it has stereo recording feature just like the N8 does.
Check the samples

Well, I currently own Nokia N82 and Nokia N8. I was also sure that Nokia N8 would beat Xperia Arc/Neo/Ray, but after having tried it, I don't think it does.
The colors are yellowish and greenish on both N82 and N8, and the sound is bassy, somewhat inside-a-bottle sounding on both N82 and N8.
Picture and sound is much better on Arc/Neo/Ray - if you "just" boost the audio 250%
N8 is my last Symbian device. (Yea, I said that after buying Vivaz Pro too, and before that I said it after buying N82.... I guess I just don't know when to quit).
I might check out N9 though.... since it's not Symbian.

Maybe an HTC Sensation? It records FullHD 1080p with 30fps, has "touchfocus" and stereo microfon/audio...I will record a sample video tomorrow
