I recently either lost or had my sony erricson k800i stolen.
clearly it's a very old phone but I had all my contacts in it.
I have since been sent another sim by vodafone.
I searched my computer in the hope that I backed up my phone. I came across a couple of files.
on says "folder.dat" and the other says "Queue.cah"
I can't open these but I'm wondering if my contacts may be in them.
I tried opening them with a free file viewer, then with file extensions such as .xl., .doc. .txt etc but it won't open to anything readable.

any help appreciated.
Sorry I wasn't sure which category to post this so just went for the general one.

thanks for any help.

Hi and welcome!

Sorry to hear what happened to you. As far as I know those files don't have anything to do with phones back up. Where did you get them?

Hi
I'm not sure where those files came from although I have just come across a file called "sony ericson">"phone back up"
it contains 8 files starting K800#1.dbk and ending K800#8 nov 2010.dbk

not sure how to open these. I'm hoping these are the ones.

Maybe you can use them with PC Suite.

Have you updated your phone before with SEUS?

I'm not sure how I updated it to be honest.
at the moment i've managed to open the files by changing them to a .zip extension and extracted them.
there is a file called "contacts.vcf" (vcard file)
I also opened the sony ericson pc suite but not sure how to put them into it. copy and paste won't work and dragging them wont work either.

any help appreciated

That .vcf file can be read by any other phone. Try it.
