The leaning tower of Washington?
but seriously, if you can feel the effects in orlando then even 5.9 must be fairly serious
but since when has there been quakes on that side of the US?

Apparently there was an earthquake in the Washington, D.C. area on July 16, 2010, when a 3.6 magnitude struck.

It is rare to feel quakes in New York so I believe
USA Today says it was felt in Canada
I guess quakes can happen anywhere but on a smaller scale in mot regions not associated with them. But like even Britain they can hit occasionally biggish.

ah, ok. I was home in Sydney when the 5.6 earthquake hit
Newcastle, NSW which is about 165km (100 miles) from Sydney, and we didn't feel a thing
