The Samsung Wave 3 was announced
two days ago and Samsung are now following up with two more Bada 2.0 powered smartphones. Samsungs new naming convention introduces earlier tells us that the Y - Young is an entry level model and the M - Magical is a mid-tier model. Both the two Wave models has a 832 MHz processor, TouchWiz and the new ChatOn messaging system from Samsung. The Samsung Wave M is little larger with a 3.65 inch 320x480 pixel TFT display while Wave Y has a 3.2 inch 320 x 480 pixel display. There is no Super AMOLED on these entry level smartphones. The available memory of 150 MB seems low, but the Bada requirement might be different from phones running on Android and Windows Phone operating system. Wave M has a 5 megapixel camera while Wave Y only has 2 megapixel. Samsung has included Samsung Kies phone management software for Windows and Mac, Music Hub for music purchasing, Social Hub with Facebook and Twitter integration and the new ChatOn messaging service where users can send text, video and images to other phones for free.Samsung Wave M highlights113.8 x 63.3 x 12.2 mmWeight: 121 gramNetworks: GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/2100, HSPA 7.2Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct3.65 inch TFT display, 320 x 480 pixel resolution5 megapixel camera, auto focus, LED lightVGA front cameraBluetooth 3.0A-GPS1350 mAh batteryStandby time: 642 hoursTalk time: 16.5 hoursFM Radio832 MHz processorAccelerometer, proximity sensorBada 2.0 operating systemNFC (optional)Samsung Wave Y highlights110 x 58.2 x 12.3 mmWeight: 102.4 gramNetworks: GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 900/2100, HSPA 7.2 Wi-Fi b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct3.2 inch TFT display, 320 x 480 pixel resolution2 megapixel camera, fixed focus, LED lightBluetooth 3.0A-GPS1200 mAh batteryStandby time: 13 hoursTalk time: 570 hoursFM Radio832 MHz processorAccelerometer, proximity sensorBada 2.0 operating systemNFC (optional)
