There have been some reports of iPhone4S users as well as iOS5 iPhone4 users getting bad batt life, are you on iOS5? Id suggest turning off iCloud, it seems to be the main culprit.

iOS 5 became available on October 12th, so unless the OP was running the beta he prob wasn't running iOS 5.

but, in case he was, or for any interested in iOS (including iOS 5) battery saving tips, here's something I posted in another topic

Is 3G on? Data services? How many apps are running in the background? Are you playing games/movies? If your data services are on, and push services are on then 1% every 3 min sounds about right.

I had same problem. iPhone 4 battery would not make it through the day on very little use. Went into apple store because I thought I had a lemon. However, they told me that users who backed up phone on iTunes from a 3G (which I did) have been experiencing this problem. They told me to restore phone and then set up as new phone in iTunes(do not back up). I was skeptical that this would work; however, it did indeed fix the problem. I did this and my battery life is great now...

You can use a crew to open it, and then replace a battery which buy from ebay.
