> X10 extended battery
Bookmark topic
Hi,
I've ordered an extended battery for my X10 and am curious if anyone else is using one. I've read they can double your uptime, which sounds cool to me! For most tasks I find the X10 battery fine, but if I'm using GPS maps for an extended time or playing MP3's for hours, it does drain the battery quite a lot, so I look forward to having double the capacity!

I have been using the 3600 mah mugen power extended battery since a month now... very happy with it...
I keep my 3g, wi fi , gps on all the time, screen on full brightness, Facebook twitter timescape to update every hourly, gmail to update every 10 minutes, auto sync always on, background data always on... and i touch around 1 and a half day to 2 days of usage comfortably... with more conservative usage you can expect 3-4 days use out of it comfortably.
Plus the back cover which comes with the battery fits perfectly... no longer do i have to sweat about losing connectivity towards the end of the day and constantly worry about stretching the battery life and turning off the smartphone features of my smart phone.

Thanks for that reply. That's what I was hoping to hear.
Interestingly, I saw a test of extended batteries and the Mugen actually did poorly! And considering it's high price, I was surprised!

I now have the extended battery (3600mA) and I'm wrapt! It's extra time rocks!
I took my phone off charge 4.30am yesterday at 88%. It's now 7.30pm the next day, 39 hours later and the battery is still at 46%. The phone has had light use in that time, but I did play music for about an hour today.
So, the extra uptime is worth it if you don't mind the increased weight and girth. For me, a worthwhile trade.
Update: After 54 hours I put it back on charge at 18%. Just love how slowly the battery discharges! For the last few hours I played music and used the GPS on Cardio Trainer for 30 minutes too!
And yes, the extended rear cover fits perfectly! Downside? Battery takes a long time to charge back up!!
With light use, the battery only discharges around 1% every two hours!!!

Woohoo! 3 days (72 hours) and still at 25%!! Could probably go 4 days between charges! The extended battery rocks!

Wow, I see the extended battery is really worth getting... The only thing I worry about is whether it'll make my phone look a lot more massive

Yes, the extended battery definitely increases running time...however, I've discovered that I get much better battery time on either battery (extended or standard) by simply using Widgetsoid to run my screen on Auto brightness. I was previously running the screen on FULL brightness. Now with reduced brightness I actually get 2 days on the STANDARD battery!!

After using the standard battery for a few days, I've gone back to the extended battery and here I am, 48 hours later and still at 50%! And that includes making over an hours worth of calls! I love being extended!!!

Yeah, I have the digital battery % in my notifications bar and it's much better than the almost useless battery icon.
72 hours (3 days) and I'm still at 34%!! I could stretch to 4 days, but I'll charge tonight. Battery seems to be getting longer times now it's had a few charges.
