here we go again...

I do like this.. quote.. "Essentially by Apple’s standards, Samsung can make all the thick, ugly, hard-cornered, non-rectangular devices its little heart desires."

Frankly, all of Apples patent lawsuits should be thrown out.

why ALL? because its Apple?

I'm certainly glad your not a patent lawyer if its all going to be based on bias.

Yes, some do come across as frivolous, and possibly/probably are. But many are clearly based on a real issue that the courts agree with and which have already caused Samsung to change their designs.

but we've said this all before. if there's nothing new to add in this topic it may as well be closed as we can repeat these things ad-nauseum!

Okay I am exaggerating but Apple has taken the trial approach instead of negotiation and that leads one to believe that Apple is bent on stiffling out the competition as opposed to seeing others work hard to achieve some level of success similar to theirs.

Interestingly Samsung is the only competitor who comes close to Apple in the area of smart phones and tablets. I certainly hope that Apple does not succeed.

On the other hand Samsung needs to up their designs especially for phones like the SGSII and distinguish themselves apart from others. The SGSII does resemble the iPhone 3gs with the home button.

On the tablet part Apple is ridiculous.

agreed. I'm with you that Samsung are doing great stuff and actually the SG2 is the only device I have bought in the last year other than the iphone/ipad. If only Samsung did an itunes equivalent that lets me keep all my stuff, and sync it, in one place... I could have been hooked.

I think that is the one thing that manufacturers are realising and Amazon have now started in that direction with the Kindle Fire. Shame their movie content is only US based when you have a Prime account (I have a UK prime account )

On my way to work this week I had that same thought about Samsung and the need to easily sync, move from one phone/tablet to another or updated just as an iPhone 3gs owner could easily move to an iPhone4. I believe that iTunes is one of the largest reasons for Apple's success.

perhaps, but whats good for the goose (etc)... HTC hits back. Again. Filling a new lawsuit against Apple using patents bought from Google

HTC bought 9 patents from Google last week and they are using these to file a complaint against Apple

like I said before... nothing new here... move along...
