Dunno if this has been discussed or if this even makes sense but...
Are there any third party apps that run on the P800 with the flip closed? If none, why not? Is it even possible? If not, what are the chances of there being 3rd party that can add T9 to the phones flip closed messaging?

What am I supposed to try at my-symbian? I constantly check the apps released on that page every day and I haven't seen any that run flip closed. Did I miss one?

Ok now there finally is a program that runs with the flip closed. I checked after you posted and there was none. Too bad I don't play chess.
EChess-P800 - also in FC mode by Michal Jerz @ 20:19 - [UIQ - P800] category
Peter van Sebille has released EChess-P800. EChess is the port of Crafty (open source chess engine) and WinBoard (open source chess frontend) for the the SonyEricsson P800. It is also the first 3rd party software supporting the Flip closed mode. EChess is freeware. Binaries and source code are available for download in our Downloads section.
