Can the P800 be set to send Withheld / unrecognised numbers to voice mail, or even ignore totally and not ring?
I dont like answering number withheld incoming calls and I think it would be a cool feature

When the phone goes and the number is withheld you would click a few keys to the approriate voicemail box............
'thank you for calling, I'm sorry this phone does not accept withheld numbers, please redial without withholding your phone number. thank you'
other voice mail boxes could be for work, friend relatives etc
what do you think?
I would definitely buy this is it could be done, would also save a lot on retrieving voice mail messages, which is V expensive in UK

I don't know about the whole answerphone idea - but does the P800 supoort caller groups??
If so, do what I do - I have a profile with all numbers in my phone book set in it and therefore I do not hear anything when people with withheld numbers ring.
Don't forget vmail calls come out of your free minutes in the UK!

I don't really think this is a coll feature as a lot of compagnies don't send their phone numbers or a lot of people refuse as well to send numbers in Europe ...If the point of having a mobile is to receive calls from only 2 persons, just give your number to those two...!

Who said I own a mobile to recieve calls from 2 'persons', you did and as I dont know you then dont put words in my mouth.
Also I have owned a mobile since the Motorola transportable and Nokia Cityman days (my 1st & 2nd 'mobile') in the mid 80's probably before you were even born.
I still think my built in answer machine is a good idea.

Before the T68, I had the Sony Z5 which had a feature that, I am sure, is the one your are looking for: the buil-in answering machine (only works when you are in reach of network). If you put in on, all calls are intercept by the answering machine, once your welcome message is finish, your are able to lisen to people leaving their message and pick them up if you want to talk to them. But the mode is either on or off, can't specify only incoming calls without number...

I think there was some bug with it initially where it couldn't turn off the mic when it answers the call, so it would hear you in the background if you spoke for the duration of the call - apparently the fault was due to the code on the phone - needed some updated api apparently.
Not sure it would screen withheld calls out-of-the-box but im sure it could (and will) be done.
But for the time being lets concentrate on doing the important things on the p800 - like getting the sound working on monkey island
