> Bugs and annoyances in the Xperia Pro
Bookmark topic
I have now been a pretty happy user of the xperia pro since october 2011, and i have since then tried to find discussions about peoples thoughts of this handset. Unfortunately I have not found any good topics, so I have to start it myself
Keyboard
The keyboard is not as good as the Xperia X2 had. For example the feeling of pushing the buttons is too soft (no clicks), and the edges of the buttons are too round for getting a grip on what you are pushing. Also the lack of a so basic feature like selecting a text for pasting somewhere else. The shift+arrow-buttons does not select the text, and to cut it makes it also more difficult. you have to do it by punching the screen. As an example: You get a phonenumber sent by e-mail. How should i copy this into the phonebook/dialer? You need to do it the old-fashin way: Either by memorizing (which should be good practice for your brain), or by writing it down on paper!
Buttons
The power-button is completely wrongly located. If you want to turn on/turn off the screen, you can't really do it with one hand... When you do it with one hand, you push the volume-button on the other side!
Battery
I have never managed to have my phone lasting on battery more than a working day! ALso during weekends when not calling so much, i end up having a almost empty battery by the end of the day.. This is crap.. I thought that a new phone would have a better battery that lasts longer!
Then i have found an interesting bug with the phone that i have not yet managed to debug. I use the handsfree that came with the phone during driving. When i'm calling a number, i put the phone next to me and let it start ringing. Something pushes/reacts on the movement when putting the phone down on the sat next to me, and hangs up the call. I don't push the screen, or any buttons, because i know of this odd behaviour. I wonder if it's some of the buttons on the face-side of the phone that are too loose?..
Software
The phone has a couple of bugs that keeps repeating. I don't know if it's an Android-issue, or and Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro issue: Something crashes on a pretty regular basis which makes the phone loose the cell-connection. This appears by haiving to punch the pincode to get back online. This is in my opinion very serious, because i miss calls. It has also happened to me that calls just end up in my voicemail. I have confirmed this myself a couple of times when customers start to send me emails that they could not reach me.. The signal-strength was always good. To reset this, i just needed to place an outgoing call to eg. the voicemail.
Lag
There is some process that eats up CPU. I have not yet managed to find out what this could be. The problem occurs when picking a number from the phonebook, and trying to dial it. The process after picking the number til the phone rings can take up to 10 seconds! Any hint on a good taskmanager that i could use for tracking down these apps would be needed...
So, now that i've opened the discussion, please tell me about your findings!
{edit: added comment about the operating-system and software}

So what you say, you don't have found any bugs or flaws in the phone, and your battery works well?
If i look at the specifications of the phone, the standbytime should be 400h (that's about 16 days!!)
Check here. I tested one weekend by turning off wifi, and datasync, but i never came close to what sonyericsson promises! Promising 16 days is cheating!

Well, I'm going to buy one black Pro, which is going to be my main phone for the next few years. So I'm really interested to know whether someone has ever experienced any serious issues and problems with the phone. Is it completely lag free, without any reboots, freezing, hardware cracks ( after intensive use )? Is the back cover easy to remove or there is some risk of breaking something?

I was just curious if anybody has issues with calls with the phone.
If I make or take calls, the screen goes blank. Though this only happens occasionally, it's a real nuisance not being able to end a call (like if you call and was sent to VM) or if you're answering a GV call and no numbers can be pressed to accept a call.

It happens on all Xperias, and that's because the phone is trying to save battery. The of the proximity sensor detects that you've put the phone on your ear and turns the display off until you take it away from your ear. The display is turns on a second after that. It's not a bug, it's a feature.

Yes if the screen goes blank then just wave your hand over the sensor to bring it to light up again. As for the Pro I always wanted one but it's not been taken on by networks here and is still expensive. It has not been a popular model which is a shame. As for bugs I am finding now that most Xperia phones with latest updates have less bugs than most handsets. They seem much better now these days something I never would have said last year. The only time I have seen an Xperia go back to entering pin code is changing back from flight mode. I have never had any reboots or crashes with Xperia. Have you got the latest firmware installed??

If you use it for phonecalls and such eventhough disabling wifi and radios, it wouldn't be considered standby time.

Talking about battery life:
My Pro today. As you can see - "5d 8h 4m 30s on battery". I took these screenshots when the battery was at 1%, a few minutes before the phone to shut down.
