The site is a bit intermittent at the moment due to popularity, but anyone still wanting to do jailbreak might be interested to hear that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 now have an untethered jailbreak curtesy of GreenPois0n

I wish I could upgrade my iPhone 2 without installing iTunes. Any solution for that?

Does not work when installing iTunes on VirtualBox or MS Virtual PC.

unfortunately only iOS 5 and later provides OTA upgrades, however your iphone is not compatible with iOS 5.

if you're looking for an earlier iOS you could possibly upgrade using xcode on a mac if you become a developer... otherwise you must surely know someone who has a pc with itunes installed. if you backup on a mac you can upgrade on a pc and then restore from your mac

yes.

but to be honest, these days, I don't find much use for jailbroken apps as just about anything I want is available on the app store.
