It is stated that P800 has 1000 contacts. I have more in my outlook. Does anyone know any way to get more contacts into P800. Would appreciate any ideas.

No idea!
Do you have any clue how to erase the whole phonebook?
Is it possible?

The only other way is to create you own contacts program. However you will need to know programming! I think(not know) that I saw one somewhere for download. I dont know if it can hold more then 1000. I did not take much notice because I dont have that many friends but it did do something different.
good luck
Sorry to ask but what are the more then 1000 contacts for and dont say friends because if you see 5 friends a day you only have time to see a friend only twice a year to fit them all in!

The 1000 contacts limit is a myth. This is a symbian driven piece of software and it does not have such a limit. I have read elsewhere of someone having over 2500 contacts. The limit is file size which is determined by the amount of storage space i.e. memory that you have. So more memory more contacts.

to add an unrecognised call (with flip open) go to the detailed call record (with time, duration etc) and select Edit, then Copy Number. Open phonebook, go to the contact you wish to add the number to, edit contact, and select "edit -> paste" into the appropriate field.
to add an unrecognised SMS, highlight number whilst reading the SMS, select Edit Copy, then paste into exisiting contact. rememerb to make sure you are selectign the right feild type (mobile for mobile phoens, otherwise you wont be able to send SMS to that persons number via the phoenbook)
