I select the "Home' profile when I go to bed at night allowing ONLY family members in my Family group to ring thru. Meaning my phone will not ring for anyone who are not in the Family group.
However, SMS from anyone who are not in the Family group still come thru with the generic SMS sound.
Is there a way to also silent SMSs. Does anyone know a solution? I do not mean the silent mode, because I want family members to ring thru in case of emergency.

apparently, you can set message alert to silent for each profile as well. By setting SMS to silent, it will apply to ALL profiles. So, setting the message alert for each profile is a bit more flexible.
