Apple has moved past LG in the worldwide rankings of mobile-phone unit sales. According to IDC, Apple is now the world’s third largest mobile-phone manufacturer, behind Nokia and Samsung.

Apple jumped two spots over the course of 2011. This time last year, Apple held fifth place among the world’s top phone manufacturers.

Well,I knew Apple would get past LG at some point. They have done well considering it's one phone per year. But it also makes it boring no variety

... compared with Samsung who bring out so many very similar phones, give them different names, and that can be considered as variety? Nokia seem to be doing the same now with incremental releases in WM7 phones.
