BBC article
A Chinese company is to ask customs officials to block shipments of Apple's iPad both into and out of the country.
If the request succeeds, it could affect global sales as China is a key manufacturing base for the company.
The move follows a long-running dispute between Apple and electronics firm Proview over ownership of the iPad name.

anyway, the latest is
Apple iPad sale ban case suspended for now in Shanghai (BBC article)
Apple can for now continue to sell the iPad tablet in Shanghai after a court ruling over naming rights was suspended on Thursday.
Chinese firm Proview had called for the courts to prevent Apple - who it accuses of infringing its trademark - from selling the device in the city.
A local court agreed to Apple's request to suspend the decision until a bigger case is heard later this month.

For once this is where i think i'd side with Apple.
I dont see what it matters that their device is similarly named to a device which is now defunct.
Its like having a child, naming him David and then claiming nobody else can ever be named David.
This whole worldwide patent tripe is going too far, its boring.
