I have just uploaded some files, files from my GS2 to the free 50GB storage that Box is apparently giving away to new comers. I am thinking that there has to be a catch to this give away. Am I missing something? Will I be required to pay afterward? What is the catch that I might be missing here.
50GB of free storage is a whole lot.

They are apparently giving the 50GB to Android phone owners. There is a limit in the size of the files of 100MB. The way I see it there is no loss to those whose this free 50GB. There are also paid versions with increase in file size and storage amount among other things.

Tranced, I only signed up on Monday. I believe that the 50GB only started recently like maybe last week. Try uninstalling and doing it with a different email address and see if you can get it.
I just spent the last two hours uploading photos. I am now going to delete some from my phone.
