Hi,
I've got a problem with my T300 IRDA connection.
My laptop is an HP Omnibook 900, IR is enabled in the BIOS, the OS used is Windows 2000 SP3 and the IR controller is well detected. and I even set the baud rate to 9600.

When the phone is near the PC, I just got the message "T300 IR Modem detected" or something like that and that's all. So the modem is installed but I don't care about this, as I just want to transfer stuff on the phone, i.e. just do file transfer.

Nothing appears to tell me it has detected a "storage unit" or something like that. I saw that many of you were using the explorer "send to" (Desk,etc...) but the mobile phone doesn't appear in the list.

Any clue to this??
Thanks inadvance

I can't do that "send to infrared".
Do you have to be in a special directory to be able to send files ?
Is it normal I don't even got a small IRDA icon in the bottom right to tell me what's going on ?

I can't comment specifically on Windows 2000, only Windows 98 as that is what I have on my secondary machine. I assume, however, that much of the process is very similar if not the same.

The presence of the Infrared Monitor icon in the system tray is an option in the Preferences tab of the Infrared control panel. When this is selected, an icon will appear in the tray regardless of whether there is an IR connection or not.

When an item is in range, the icon will change to indicate that there is IR activity.

You don't need to be in any particular directory to transfer files. To send a file to a connected device, right-click on the item and select "Send To > Infrared Recipient" (or similar). If this option is not present in the Send To menu, reinstall the Infrared adapter to restore it.
