Hey guys,Im finally upgrading my P1i after a long long long time!and yes i have missed the bus of the Android era!!
So for my budget my available options are as follows
1.SE ARC S-399$
2.Lumia800-460$
3.GalaxyS-arnd 380$

Ive taken the Samsung out of my options since its doesnt have..er..well a flash light ,yes i use the torch a lot and i really need one on the phone!

So that leaves me at the Lumia and ARC S.So Windows or Android?I extremely love the W7 OS Interface and im fine with the available amount APPs.and that made me settle for the Lumia but then i learned about its poor Audio quality and poor battery backup and that is when i started to condier the ARC S.the ARC S feels great but does the 512mb RAM really slow it down?
My main requirements are.
1.Web Browsing-need to maintain several forums and browse other sites
2.Maps-obviously Nokia Maps are the best?
3.Built-obviously both aren't built tough but my excess amount of Motorcycling and touring means i need it to be a little rigid
Does the ARC S have any known issues or bugs?
Also where does SONY leave the ARC S now?will it see any further support and updates or will it be left in the dark?I hear the SONY P or U one of them will fall under my budget?any ideas?and what about its launch dates?

So based on my needs, what do you peaople think i need to pick between them?

Thank you

Id say wait for the Nokia Lumia900 then if you like WP7:

Should solve the cons of the 800.

If you cant wait then get the Arc S, it will get Android4.0 so Sony arent leaving it in the dark.
Web browsing in Android is great, the built-in browser itself supports both HTML5 and Adobe Flash11, but there are also many alternatives in Android Market e.g. Dolphin Browser HD, Opera Mobile12, Mozilla FireFox, NetFront, Opera Mini etc...
Google Maps is excellent, and very accurate, but again MANY alternatives in Market e.g. CoPilot, Sygic etc...
Build quality in Arc S is good, its no N8, but very solid.

Hope that helps.

Thank you,Tsepz_GP
Considered the Lumia900 but it will definitely fall beyond my budget. So no
How is the web browsing experience on W7?i guess they dont supp. flash?and does the ARC S suffer from the 512mb RAM?
IF OS wasnt an issue what would you go for?LUMIA or the ARC?

I used WP7 for half a year. I use Android now for over a year.

I say WP7 is outstanding in many ways. But I just couldn't stay with it.

Reasons:
1. Boring flat UI after some time. Lack of coulor, lack of homescreen background, tiles become dead boring compared to Android's widgets.
2. Lack of Flash in the browser
3. Lack of Opera browsers, lack of better Office
4. Lack of FB chat which is intergrated in Messaging
5. Lack of USB files transfer, lack of Bluetooth transfer, Zune is so fckn limited in terms of sync, it doesn't even sync with Office
6. Lack of control over the System
7. Lack of basic control like File manager, renaming files
8. Many other small system limitations.

I hope you see it more clear now
Android may have it's glitches but it's the best OS IMO.

Yes Arc will have ICS this year.

I would say comparing SGS II to Xperia S is nonsense.

I think getting xperia U or galaxy S advance would be better option at this stage if you can wait up a month more. Dual core plus budget friendly.

If its just the Arc S vs Lumia 800 then the nokia's design might be a little more durable. But it's mostly about the ecosystem so check them both out and take the one you like best. The Xperia P will probably fit in you budget and I'd take it over both. The Xperia U you don't really want if you are considering higher end phones.
