I was actually wondering what I'd be gaining by upgrading to ICS - I'm not 100% convinced it's ready to upgrade too. The XPlay runs smooth and fast on Gingerbread but I've been reading game compatibility issues with ICS so I might not bother.

Its good that it has started..lets wait till it hits our country.
The first handsets to get the treatment are the Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V and Xperia ray in the hands of users in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Norway. Sony will further update on availability of the update in more markets.

I must say the android 4.0 is very impressive. The only thing I didn't like is the theme lol, it sucks

Hey guys just got my update notice for ICS for Neo V. I havent upgraded yet, i wanted to hear what feedback it is getting before taking the plunge. Is there less bloatware on the update or can you choose to remove? I heard that there is settings at the start of update to remove some bloat. I really hope they get the memory management sorted, the worst culprits are facebook running, livewire, email etc. I know there is task killer but I wondering if the ICS is optimised for our 512MB RAM, so we can run more apps smoother and of course the general UI too!

They have not customized the whole UI 100%. It can be noticed easily and that's the reason I didn't like the theme. But if you look at the features, it's outstanding. I love the new gmail app. The select text, copy and paste has become very polished and simple. It's just perfect. One of the most amazing thing is the multitasking where you can close app. Its great cause you can use for multitasking and closing apps at the same time. Brilliant.

The phone runs smooth without a doubt but it's not for 512mb ram. Definitely not but Sony has made it possible by tweaking in UI.
