Hello once again! This time introduction will be also short. Theme of this month is: Depth of Field. Theme is wide, so no one who really wants to be part of the competition, shouldn’t have problems with participate.

How to aim Deepth of Field? Quite easy. Set focus on the object you want to capture leaving for it some space to get blurry background. You don’t need to have manual focus in your camera. Even the most simple phones are avaible to capture great DOF.

Some inspirations from: Uncle Google

And here are some great examples from our Esato’s community:

Good one! I love playing around with depth.. just remember that light (like in most cases) plays a big role.. you can get the object a in the sun, and the background in the shade, and it might exaggerate the bokeh effect a bit.. depending on what you are after.

Either way, this should be fun and relatively easy to do with a phone. Good Luck all!

I will try to get a PureView shot for this.. I should be able to get one before the end of the month

So basically we have the same theme but with a different name (because of cell phones small sensors and wide optics you can get a smaller DOF only by shooting closer than ~0.5 metres from the lens)

In fact it's very similar topic. Yes, but this time crucial role could have the background not necessarily the main object. Those who participated last month shouldn't have problems with taking the shot.

Some interesting stats from yesterday. Since I'm visitiong General discussions I haven't seen such activity. There are usually average of 10 browsering users.

From this topic. There are usually average of 1-2 browsering users .

@9_Destiny
A reason for the increased activity could be that I re-tweeted tranced post on twitter

I was thinking of the exact same theme and that it would be similar yet different, since you need to think of the background whereas in a macro shot you only care about the close-up subject.

Hopefully I'll have a shot taken from ICS ... still waiting to see my Sales Item number in the Android update page...
