Hi, I cannot seem to get the IOS 5 update on my apple ipod touch 3g. I go on my itunes account and click on "check for updates" and it comes up with the result saying that I already have the latest version of ipod software 4.2.1. I know this is obviously not true because iOS 5 is the new and latest software version. Please help, I would like to get the update soon, tell me how!

Verify that you really have an 3G iPod, the 2G does not support iOS 5.
It seems they are very much alike and that you have to look at the serial number to know the difference.
