> Bluetooth - what do you use it for?

Wireless connectivity, communications with several devices simultaneously, cool-looking... this is all I hear about Bluetooth.
Presently a happy owner of a T68i, I am going to switch to the Sony Ericsson P800 (which I have been waiting for half a year), which I honestly believe is the best GSM phone at the moment.
But what about Bluetooth technology? I've heard (and seen) a lot of opinions and comments saying it's a great technology etc. Sure it is, but for a regular user, is there really, I mean really something that should make me think I need a Bluetooth earset? I'd appreciate real-life examples of application of this technology, outside of just using it as a replacement of the hands-free (in my country, trying to print out a fax received on your P800 by sending it via Bluetooth is still kinda exotic, you know..

Bluetooth has the same application use as infrared on your phone but without line of sight. It also as you have noted, allows the use of a handsfree replacement and of course, car kit.

About the P800,..its a Point to Multipoint bluetooth device, meaning you can have more than one connection at once.
I work with bluetooth,..and use it quite a lot.
E.g. P800 + Bluespoon headset when driving a car. No wires in the way.
P800 as modem,.using Toshiba Portege 4000 laptop with bluetooth and WIFI.
Transferring stuff/synchronizing as said before,..also you can listen to e.g. music using headset and pc with built-in/or bluetooth dongle
Now we also have the Microsoft bluetooth mouse/keyboard.
Writing from the Toshiba, using WLAN on a DSL connection, hehe,..so its all about wireless
Bluetooth's strongest side, when compared to Infrared, is that it doesnt have to be next to the other device.
The "weak side" of Bluetooth, is that its still a bit messy to install/use, or sometimes it is.
Another weak point is price,...but it does get cheaper all the time, as more devices come along.
