I have a W995 from Orange that's been unlocked in a shop some while ago. It fires up for about an hour. shuts down, reboots Then comes up with the legend "please insert sim". Is there any software to correct this please

I am not sure if Sony Ericsson Update Service still exists but reinstalling the firmware is a very good first step.

Reflash it (prefereably with generic firmeare) if that fails try another sim, if that fails then probably hardware fault.
