Remember HTC's early 2012 Android flagship? Well, it's back and plus-sized for the tech-savvy masses. Officially announced today, the One X+ is a minor refresh of the original that debuted at MWC this past spring, albeit with a faster 1.7GHz Tegra 3 CPU, larger 2,100mAh battery, expanded 64GB of storage and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with Sense 4+ onboard. As part of that upgraded custom skin, the 4.7-inch device can now tap to pair, or "Tap and Go" as the company calls it, with Beats-branded speakers, allowing users to easily connect and disconnect from their audio peripherals. Apart from that, the 8-megapixel rear module with f/2.0 lens and ImageChip-assist has stayed the same, but the camera software's been slightly tweaked with the addition of two new modes: Self Portrait for subtle retouching of front facing shots and Sightseeing which allows for quick launch of the camera app. Also debuting alongside this hardware update is HTC Get Started, a web-based service that lets users manage initial setup from the desktop for one-click installation on the phone itself. The One X+ is slated to launch globally this fall, hitting Europe and Northern Asia this October, with a November rollout in South Asia to follow. As for a US release, well, you'll just have to sit tight and see what news the day brings.

This just made the One X more attractive to me than the GS3 and GNote2. Love the One X design, and now that there is a 64GB variant i am once again being pulled toward HTC as i was last year by the Sensation XE, something about that whole industrial design of theirs, glad it also got a larger battery, but i wonder if its the same Tegra3 and just overclocked OR is it a slightly updated Tegra3?

Not for me. I dont like how it looks compared to the original and very beautiful One X. They should have kept the same design imo.
I still prefer my SGS3 and with Jellybean due any day now its still the best all round Android phone.

Theres no doubt about the GS3 being the best all round Android, it ticks all the boxes from expandable memory, removable battery, to the best A9 Quad chip around, but the One X+ has a certain appeal to it, IMO its design looks more solid/no nonsense compared to the S3. Dont know why, but as much as i like the S3 i just cant get myself to totally love the oval shape it has, i hope the S4 doesnt follow the same shape, hopefully it looks more like the GNote2.

Heh, i didnt like the S3 compared to the S2 design until i sat them side by side, white square versus white curved.
Now i prefer the curved. The Galaxy S2 design i loved from day one, but after owning the S3 it just looks and feels better imo. The white S2 especially feels like a childs toy.

I think sony should really consider purchasing htc. I remember back in 2007 or 2008, htc's ceo Peter Chou, wanted to be part of
. I can only imagine what would come up if both worked on one super phone. Htc's sense + timescape ui(walkman, album, movies).
Btw does this have tegra3+ or just tegra 3? This makes me re consider getting an xperia tx or v now :S . More over, just read the specs of leaked bb10 device. That also has some really awesome specs(2800mah battery, quad core krait, 2gb ram!). Again, making it harder for me to choose.

I have absolutely the feeling when I compare 2012 Xperias to 2011 Xperias - they look soooo boring and boxy and rough, compared to the stylish curves and shapes of their older predecessors...

Sony's 2012 models are nice to look at, if a little square but horrible to the touch imo.

Are you crazy ? HTC make much better phones now. If anything, HTC should buy Sony !!
Mind you, they've both made massive losses this past twelve months so one day we might see one or the other drop out completely.
