I made a false accusation about a colleague at work and think my manager overheard. I feel really ill and don't know what to do. I really messed up.

If you think they overheard then the best thing is to be honest and upfront and give him / her the reasons why. You might just get disciplined. How serious was the accusation?

goldenface. If you are a good person then you have the right to make a mistake. Although your bad actions will sound louder than your goods. But I hope this is not the case.
In my opinion you just need to fix the things up with your colleague. Your manager probably won't never find out that it happened.
