I'm still considering getting a P800. With over 1,500 *already categorized* contacts, I am abit annoyed reading the reviews that the P800 doesn't support categories. However, I notice that the P800 actually has folders.
How is this different from categories, since IMHO the two provides the same function? If they are different, can the synch software be customized to do the proper translation? I guess it can't, otherwise, I would have heared it in the forums by now.
But it should be an easy software update for the synch software, right?!?

The folders under the contacts are for easier sort only. This means that for instance you want to have your relatives stored in a separate folder you can, when searching for a contact you can search in that folder if you want. Synchronizing takes the ALL option, meaning the folders are ignored.

The folders concept is used throughout the phone & with media files they are actually put into folders.
With Calendar, Tasks, Contacts they also have a folder concept but work just like catagories.
Unfortunately, they do not Sync and I have had to manually re-catagorise everything since 1/1/2003 (leaving the old data in my Psion PDA).
This is a major issue that must be resolved in future upgrades of the software suit as it makes syncing with outlook useless for me.
