Who the hell said that it's supposed to be released today ? Total b0llocks. I called orage direct who said "No the phone is not released today". I called the orange shop in Derby who said "No we have not got the phone - no idea when it'll be released". I called the orange shop in Stafford who said "We wont get it until at least the end of the month".

I did same thing (based on rumors of 17th).
Orange E-shop said it was released today at first (about to take my order. I got really excited
) then realised that the system still only said coming soon. She said to try in a couple of days & the system should have been updated.
Orange shop Sheffield - Still no solid news on when they will get it but expected anytime.
The waiting continues

This is getting beyond a joke. It's not like the delay is being caused by SE actually fixing any more of the bugs, adding profile support, etc ...

Just as an extra, I just phoned SonyEriccson customer support to see if I still get the 'stock' answer of 1st Quarter 2003 and they said that had changed to 'By the end of this month'!
So its definitely looking like this month (whats 2 more weeks after waiting 10 months
)

I've just spoken to the e-shop too. The bloke said that they still dont have a definate date, but it is expected between today (17th) and the 24th. If it arrives before 1pm it'll be next day delivery if not, two days. I asked if I needed to pay more for next day delivery, and he said not, and that they couldnt put next day delivery against the order until they have it in stock.

I presume because it costs about £500 sim free & about £250 on contract. Thus, saving 50% on the phone price.

Getting a new contract just for the phone hardly saves you any money as after a year on contract you will have spent more than you would have done if you'd bought the phone sim free ....
.... unless you dont already have a contract and need one.
