> Phones4U - confusing O2 contracts

Can anyone explain the current offers on the Phones4U website?
From what I can see, it looks like they aren't offering O2 contracts anymore? I called in the store today at lunch to ask, but they just tried to talk me into going with another provider. Looks like SIM deals are on the website but no proper contracts?

They certainly look like they aren't doing O2 contracts with phones on their website. I personally wouldn't use Phones4U as I have only ever had and heard of bad experiences with them.

Nope only pay and go. Also,Phones4Poo have a special deal with Vodafone and their contracts. My brother was in their stores asking for Three network and they said crap like the Three network doesn't work on their handsets(they do). And they almost forced him to go Vodafone.

Yeah i'd avoid Phones4U also.
Their stores are very much aimed at nothing but driving sales and selling contracts. The staff dont care and only want to pester you into buying or signing. They spend all day sat down because they scare customers away by pestering and then when they do get a customer jump on them immediately to buy not stopping until you do so.
Also notice Phones4U staff all have dry, bad smelling breath. Thats all the talking they do without stopping to take a drink.
Go in CPW, at least in there the staff dont know anything so are usually easy to intimidate with superior knowledge of phones and contracts.

They are only good for their pay as you go prices which are all sim free. Although on contracts and pay as you go they don't offer any sort of returns. Goto Carphone or O2 themselves. They have rather aggressive sales tactics too I find them rude and annoying.

I ended up going somewhere else in the end.
I tried to have another go with P4U just for benefit of the doubt, but my god... it was painful. Bodged answers from the sales staff. I actually had to say 'you don't do O2 contracts do you'. and even then I never got a proper answer. joke.

Good on you. You're never going to get sense out of retail store staff unless like the people on this site they're actually into what they're selling. Which nine times out of ten they arent.

Yes,Phones4U staff say look here is the latest 100 mega pixel camera phone,it's the best photo quality you can get. Duh. I once had a really annoying staff member literally make my blood boil. I went in and said i would like to buy a particular phone sim free. I asked sim free cos it was same price as with pay as you go sim card with top up. And annoyingly Phones4U have to open the phone and turn it on in store to activate the sim card. Sim free they don't do this. I said i just want it sim free. The sales advisor just said 'how much do you top up per month' trying to sell me a contract. I said no just want sim free. He pressured me again and again to take contract. After an annoying 10 minutes he then said ok then well don't buy it sim free get it pay as you go as we don't make any money on sim free handsets. He said if they connect pay as you go or contract they make money. I said i just want it sim free, please. He said why?? I just said it's the same price as pay as you go with top up but if i go pay as you go you open the box in store and i want to open the box at home. He said but we don't make any money. I said can you please just sell me the phone. After a while i won, grrrrrrrrr. So fecking irritating they are

I went into P4U once looking for a particular handset (can't remember which one now). I asked the sales guy how much is the handset on a certain tariff and he sat me down and started going through it on his computer. He started asking me questions about my name and address. When I asked why he was asking for these details when I had only asked for a price he said that before he could give me a price he had to do a credit check on me and process the sale. Needless to say I stood up and walked out without giving any details or buying anything ever again.
