> which phone to buy for gps and offline maps?

Hi,
I need a phone for offline maps and GPS. I used a nokia 5800 before and it was good but GPS locking was very slow without a data connection. Now looking for a cheap phone for offline maps and gps. I don't need a good camera, music, games, apps etc.

good idea, but it would be looking really weird walking with a GPS device like tomtom/garmin.
besides the mobile phones today does good enough job if you are not driving.

With an internet connection it's superfast. Don't know about without but I have full trust it's fast also.
Nokia maps can be pre loaded and are free

The 620 is a better phone overall even for battery life. Also the 620 has the full suite for Here Maps etc the 520 doesn't. For example the 520 has UK but not Europe if you live in UK.

I Had the 820 for a couple of months and the GPS was lightning fast, even indoors, if you turn off the internet it will only take a couple more seconds to get a lock.
