Surprised this thread hasn't been started yet. Anyway I know the camera is not massively different from the S3 (apart from resolution) but here goes:

Yes they are. I have had this issue on many previous Samsung devices on auto. You gotta use EV down a touch or spot focus. The GS3,GS2 & Ace 2 all over expose in bright sunshine on auto.

Ive never rated my S3's camera that great tbh. Im surprised some sites are saying the S4 gives such brilliant pictures, I was expecting just more of the same.

It's not a bad camera and is better than most but i see it as too processed the photos almost too sharp. Not natural like the 808 is. Not all but some Samsung cameras tend to over expose in sunlight on auto.

Had mine for two days...camera is great. Removed all bloat..no issues. Still cycling battery.
