> Total remote for P800?

Hi @ all!
Maybe you have heard of the phantastic IR Remote program from Griffin technology which is called "Total Remote".
This program is for Win CE PDAs and allows to use them as a remote control for all devices - TV, VCR, CD-Player, and much more!
They used a clever trick: Because the original IR-Diode is in most cases not powerful enough, the made a IR adapter which fits in the stereo headphone jack! That means, the program converts IR signals in Audio signals and controls the IR adapter! So they got a range of 100 feets!!!

Unfortunately the program doesn't exist for SymbianOs (P800) and the adapter is for 3,5mm headphone jacks while the P800 has a 2,5mm headphone jack.
But it should be possible!
People can make a IR adapter theirselves - just need IR diodes and connect them with a 2,5mm plugin. That shouldn't be a problem.
And the program...maybe a developer reads this and tries to make a "remote control" program based on this idea for the P800? That would be great!

Interesting... although I think the diodes on the P800 are strong enough... well, they look large enough anyway.
I've been waiting for an IR remote control program as well. I hope SE comes up with a learning remote soon! I have an old Sony TV and the remote is about to die!!!

Please can somebody of you call Griffin technology to ask them if they make a "Total remote" version (including a 2,5mm IR adapter which is turned 90 degrees as the stereo headphone jack of the P800 is on the side) for the great Sonyericsson P800?

I wrote an email but I didn't get an answer - therefore I think it is better if somebody calls them and speaks personally to them.
I would call myself but I don't understand english on telephone very good - therefore somebody of you should probably make it.
Maybe it's god if as many people as possible call them and write also mails concerning "Total remote for the Sony/// P800" - maybe they'll see that many people would like to have such a program and they are going to release it!
