It is not trying to win a design award but is made for users who wants a phone that can handled salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock. Aka though usage

yeah, it aint pretty... but I like its "rugged" qualities, should be ideal for those working outside of an office most of the time.
