O.k. here is the scoop:
I have used the T68i since it came out here in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THRU ATT WIRELESS...every feature possible. I consider myself an expert on the phone; I can type almost as fast as on my normal keyboard! I love all the accessories!:
-MP3 player - works great
-Office Online (ATT specific)...so cool you can access your work email from your cell
-Communicam - unbelievable quality at high res!
-Bluetooth headset...not perfect, but amazing!
-Blue torch light...works great
-Mini charger - permanently in my suitcase
Anyway, ATT sent me a new replacement phone and here is the problem:
4 months ago, I called ATT for assistance in setting up the phone so I can access email from the voice side, and not only the data side. The customer service rep. gladly helped...she said:
Go to messages > email > options > add account >Mmode mail and the gave me all the info that is supposed to go into all the options (i.e.Incoming Server, Incoming Port, Mailbox, Password, Outgoing Server, etc). I set it up and BOOM, everything worked great!! I could send pictures via emailattachments and everything! Take the picture with the communicam and WHAMO...imediately sent to all my office friends!!!! COOL!
Now on my replacement phone, these settings were not there again. I called ATT customer service, waited 45 minutes, got disconnected, called back, waited again for 30 minutes, talked to incompetent people, finally got a superviser, and he said "sorry, this is not supported by ATT and never was"..."thats a bunch of hooey", i said, and explained that it always worked before! The Superviser stated that whoever told me these settings was working "outside the scope of ATT rules" and would be disciplined!"...what a corporate $#@&!
Anyway, I didnt get the settings. Now, let me explain the reason why they do not give these out:
1) ATT just activated MMS service, which they charge.40 cents per message to do the same thing that was basically free before with email from the voice side (you cannot send attachments from the data side). Greedy Corporation!!
2) The phone is obviously set up to have email from the voice side...IT WORKED BEFORE: NOW THE $#!&* WONT GIVE THESE FEW SIMPLE SETTINGS OUT BECAUSE THEY CAN MAKE MORE MONEY THRU MMS!! A phone with such cool features and some lame company restricts access to them!
I know someone out there must have these few simple settings: there is again, the:
Incoming Server, Incoming Port, Mailbox, Password, Outgoing Server, outgoing Port
Incoming/ Outgoing Port are Numbers (143 and something else as far as I remember)
Please, Please, Please who can help me here...I will reward them with a cool company hat!!!!
Thanx for any help!!!!! I HAVE NOT FOUND THE RIGHT SETTINGS ON THIS SITE, SO I AM ASKING IN THIS NEW POST!
