Renders of the LG G4S leak ahead of a rumored July unveiling

It seems like only yesterday that LG released its newest flagship, the G4, but rumor has it that yet another revision is already imminent. That’s according to Russian website hi-tech.mail.ru, which posted renders of a tweaked G4 — a “G4S,” if you will — ahead of a reported July unveiling.
Given the extremely short window between the G4’s release and its successor’s inception, the changes are unsurprisingly minor. LG allegedly plans to position the G4S as a budget alternative to its pricier counterpart, and the specifications reflect that. It reportedly features a 5.2-inch, 1,920 x 1,080 screen, which is less high-res when compared to the G4’s 1,440 x 2,560 resolution. It’s also supposedly run by a slower 1.5GHz processor, and sports a cut-down 8-megapixel camera versus the 16-megapixel shooter on the G4. Otherwise, it sports the same laser autofocus, dual LED flash, and manual shutter as the G4.
If the G4S shares as much in common with the G4 as rumblings suggest, it’ll be a strong mid-range contender. The G4 may not best the competition in terms of raw numbers, but the Digital Trends review team came away incredibly impressed by the G4’s ergonomic design, great camera, and bright display. We especially appreciated its battery capacity, which at 3,000mAh is larger than most.
The G4S isn’t the first inexpensive derivation of G4 to hit store shelves, believe it or not. Just two months ago, LG unveiled the G4C and G4 Stylus, both of which are bound for foreign markets. The G4C sports the G4’s specifications in a smaller package, essentially. The 5.7-inch G4 Stylus, meanwhile, compromises in the areas of processing power with a 1.2GHz quad-core or 1.4GHz octa-core processor, picture prowess with a 13-megapixel rear camera, 1GB of RAM, and just 8GB of storage, but ships with LG’s Rubberdium Stylus for on-screen doodling.
Details on the G4S are otherwise hard to come by, but hi-tech.mail.ru reports it’ll launch in the second half of this month.

a 1/2 inch sensor at 20MP in the next G5 with the sensor being provided by Sony with exclusive use for LG.
Apart from that the only other info is the SD820.
