I had serious problems in converting existing divx clips for the p800 using mpegable. (especially audio problems and right sizing).

I will try to do this when I have time:
- separate audio and video (using nandub - doom9.org)
- encode video using virtualdub (doom9.org) and DivX (some say that it is the best quality mpeg-4 codec around divx.com) using mpeg-4 simple settings (no bidir, no q-pels no b-frames).
- encode audio using AACENC to produce a stereo AAC file
- mux video & audio using MP4UI for mp4creator (mpeg4ip-sourceforge)
This should produce an ISO mp4 file which should play on almost any mp4 player.
According to the p800 whitepaper the video settings should be
video: bitrate 64 kbps , size 192x144 MPEG-4 simple profile
audio: bitrate 32 kbps, samp 22,05 kHz, AAC stereo
Therefore it should work !
If you have time do try before I do leave a message under this topic !!
Cheers

I hope someone makes a simple program that uses DivX (or another encoding engine) to encode AVI or MPEG files into P800.

I think a lot of people (e.g., myself) would love to be able to save files to watch in case of extreme boredome....

I tried really hard, every setting, every single mode: result: it seems that the p800 does not accept the encoding of mp4 made by DIVX although many mp4 players do and as far as i knew it produces iso compliant simple visual profile mp4 videos. Also merging AAC MPEG-2 to mp4 output from mpeggable using M4UI leaves a mp4 file that can be looked at but without sound.
