who's service does your phone use to connect to the internet?

eg. i'm on o2 and can configure my email settings as per my isp or Yahoo.co.uk but i need to use o2's outgoing smtp server to send mail...you'll probably need to do the same depending on who your phone is connecting to, to access the net...hope you understand what i'm writin, i'm in 'no brain' mode today.

Your email provider may not allow you to relay messages via their SMTP server while you are connected through a different ISP.

I am using a service that does allow this, but for other email accounts I have to use a free SMTP service offered by my mobile operator.

Still cant get it to work, basically all i was trying to do was get it to send e-mails so that i can send pictures via e-mail rather than having to pay the 40p MMS charge all the time.

Any solutions????????

mikey,

i have it working on my payasugo o2 chip, sends and receives pics and MMS for free(using www.nowmms.com).

in my WAP profiles the ip address is: 194.237.106.73 ...from what i remember this is the gateway that allows sending and recieving of larger files over 3KB(which most providers have as a file size limit).

try it out and email me if you need more help, you'll get there eventually.
