Just checked my phone bill and found that have transfered 3.5MB data in 27 days via WAP. This will cost me NOK 147,50 (around $16,22 and £11,18). Anyone else close to this transfer amount?

No, even though I wap a lot, I am at about 1MB in 12 days. I don't wap any sites with many color pictures, as I guess you do...

just try out GPRS few days ago actually and it works great...
btw, what is the charges of the GPRS in various country?
in UK, for the starter package, which no line rental required, it is like 2p (0.02 pound) per KB..
or GPRS1 which need u to pay 7.50 per month inclusive of 1 MB per month, and 0.5p per KB....
and then the line rental go higher and higher for other tariffs...

Some operators decided to take away the fee per MB, and go with a flat rate instead.
Why?? If there are re-transmissions because of a bad link, you'll have to pay for that as well, and some customers didn't like that

flat fee is only good to those who access GPRS and wap alot.. for those who only use it once a while for email and stuffs, it is not worthy.

- Telia: 100 SEK/month (5MB "free" data)
- Comviq: 49 SEK/month (3MB "free" data)
- Europolitan (Vfe): 65 SEK/month (2MB "free" data)
I have used abaout 1MB in 1.5 weeks, so for me Comviq would be the cheapest, but I choose Telia for the area coverage and quality of service.

Actually we dont pay anything yet, for the gprs-use itself.
We only pay the GPRS-subscription
(hope this is the right word for it !)
You have your basic gsm-subscription, and you make a seperate gprs-subscription,..this we pay for.
At this moment, there are two operators/providers that have the gprs-network,..none of those charges anything for the "gprs-use" itself.
If they do,..they dont write it on my bill, hehe

With wap and PC use on GPRS I have now reached 15 mb since 1. of december. Just for the fun of it I did reset my counter 1. of december.
I use Netcom in Norway and since march my monthly GPRS bill have been around 5 - 600 NKR a month.
Therefore I look forward to their new billing for heavy users. 200 NKR a month for 20 mb.
Luckily I don't pay my cellphone bills.
