I use it with the flip and yes, there is speed dial. Its just the same as the T68i. You press the speed dial number (as you say... 2 for home) and then the ok key.

I can not seem to make up my mind wether to use it with or without the flip, it's been a bit of both.
As a phone the P800 can be used as a one hand unit both with and without the flip. The shortcuts are quite simuilar to the T68 using the wheel the same way as the joystck to scroll throug the menu.
And yes, the buttons can be used as speed dial, and you can use pics instead of them as well.
Stop considering, buy it!

If you have a Brando and you don't bite your fingernails, you don't need a flip

Uhm... why hasn't anyone mentioned the picture speed dial function??? I stopped using the numeric version the very day I got my P800.
The speed dial of the P800 is very neat... without the flip that it. I removed the flip the day I got my phone as well.
The speed dial shows a photo of the person you want to call, laid out in 9 squares... just press the picture of the person you want to call. Works fine with your fingertip... you can also use the jog dial to scroll through the 9 squares.

if you have the flip on you can press and hold a key to bring up the contacts starting with that letter ... hold "6MNO" to bring up Michael, Mum, etc ...
