watcher,
i think kit is trying to say that it's against forum rules to ask for warez or crackz here.
we want to encourage developers to write decent apps for the P800.
I take your point about a lot of software seeming overpriced though. I think that the problem is a lack of quality. If the software is good enough, people will pay ...

That's the thing... I find a lot of these apps are really just over-priced.
Example: Handy Safe, and Safe offer the same level of encryption (both use 224-bit blowfish) ... they both look similar in interface, options, and icons. Safe, offers voice prompts. Handy Safe doesn't but comes with a 'free' desktop utility.
Safe costs $8
Handy Safe $25
Why the BIG difference in price? For the desktop app?!?! $12 would've been reasonable.
Appforge Shopping List $15... Come on!!! An app with tick-boxes?? $15!?!?!? Meanwhile, a 3D app with texture mapping (Interstellar Flames) costs only $7. I think developing your own 3D engine, w/ texture mapping is more difficult to do than a text app with check-boxes.
Personal Trainer $16 ... It's nothing more than a calorie calculator!
MyPhotos for SE P800 $15 ... slideshow..pics are NOT full screen
FullScreenPics -FREE..no slideshow, but pics are fullscreen
Bug Me! $20! It's basically Jot w/ an alarm!!?!?! Well...I guess if you want a cute alarm... I feel it's only worth $10
Screen Capture for SE P800 $20 ... name says it all
sCap --- FREE ... ok... you guys decide.
Currency Converter for SE P800 $10 ..reasonable...but
CurrencyConverter -FREE ... both can be updated via WAP
There are some apps that are worth it, even if there are free alternatives... like World Mate. The interface is very pleasing, and even if it doesn't really offer much more than the free Currency Converter, and the built-in Clock on the P800... additional features such as 3 additional time-zones, weather, and multiple currency converters, make it worth it to business travellers.
The apps mentioned above are just ridiculous. And I personally feel aren't worth the prices they charge. Handy Safe is a great app, but NOT worth $25 over Safe which is $8. The desktop app should've been optional...or the whole thing should just cost $12. Mobipocket has a great setup... they have 2 version of their eBook Reader... The Pro version which is $20, and the free version... if you don't need the features of the Pro... don't register it...and it stay free.
If you just want to read eBooks..the free version is a great deal.
Shopping List... $15? For a SHOPPING LIST?!?!?! How inefficient are you that you need a $15 app to allow you to 'tick' what you've bought??!?! It's useful...but NOT worth $15... $5 maybe, $7 at the most.
For me, the most ridiculous are Screen Capture and Currency Converter. Why did they even bother? There are free versions out that had exactly the same functions.
Anyway, I don't think these apps are bad... I just feel that they're NOT worth the money. These people should get a grip on costs. You can't just say... "Oh, lets price all our apps at $20 regardless of what it does". Price it accordingly.

P800 new with not many apps. the the developers are trying to milk us eager users. Will eventually settle down.
Sent email to author of Handy Safe asking what justified the price being 3 times higher than safe. His answer was ability to sync with the desktop application. For me, I don't need that, but I did prefer the user interface & the big plus is that you can have long notes to any of the records. A lot of my private data resided in Word Document files. By cutting & pasting I could put them in as notes & encrypt to lot
