What do you guys think, is the lack of speed in T68, T65 and T39 T9 input bad software or is it the hardware that can't do any better?

I'm starting to beleive that it is the hardware! I mean, if they can make the software in T66 as fast as some here say it is, why don't they take it and put it into the other phones too?

maybe the software they are using isn't correctly optimised for the new hardware.

either way - sort it out ericsson!

Its for sure the software!
People who have upgrade their software are experience more reliable and faster menuspeed/T9

@mrNoodles
It’s not for everybody the same...!! I’ve upgrade my T68 from R1B to R1C... and then to R2A... and (my point of view...) I didn’t find any improvement at all in the menu nor in the T9 speed...!!!
We may be have the best phone in the World, but FOR SURE we have the WORST T9 in the World...!!! What’s a shame...

Interesting because I have noticed definetly improvments in speed. Alltought I must say that T9 turns back to very sluggish after the message reach 50 character limit.

This is very interesting reading! I would be very dissapointed if they've change the CPU in the T66 and thats why it's faster....

I'm upgrading my phone today from R1B to the (hopefully) latest firmware at an Ericsson service centre.

Let's all hope that it is the firmware and that Ericsson will sort it out!

Are you sure? That was sad to hear.
I was really looking forward to my new phone/SW update, I´m experince very big trouble with my phone/SW. But unfortunately their out of swap phones at the service point. Wich I think really stinks by such a large company as
kicks ass, but not on my phone..

I agree! The T9 on T68 sucks!!!! Way to slow compared with Nokia! I really hope for Ericsson's reputation that they improve this on the new softwareupdate!!! Really disappointed with SMS-writing on the T68...

Ok. I've upgraded the firmware in my phone. The version is R2B.
At first, to be honest, I was very dissapointed!
Later on I found out this, and I'm sure that this has been written several times in this forum:
T9: At first faster but after about 40 characters it's slow again...
Scrolling on wap and email: VERY fast!! Just keep the joystick down and it'll scroll real fast! No page down function, though.
Voice Dialing: It works!! It didn't work before.

And many other stuff. But these were the things I wast most dissapointed at.

So if just Ericsson gets the T9 right I would really feel like i haven't thrown my money into the lake!
