I've been very frustrated with my T68i and my WinXP machine. I have downloaded all the files that SonyEricsson has to offer, I've also downloaded Christensen's SENDFILE program. I know for sure that Mobile Phone Monitor is running becuase when I rund SENDFILE, the little error doesn't pop up. But it cannot seem to see my phone. It says "no connected phone". I can't even the the dam XDNTX (whatever the name is) to sync with my Outlook 2002. Nothing seems to be connecting to my T68i. I was able to install my T68i as a modem in my computer, but that's all! I'm using a serial cable for my connection. What am I doing wrong? What settings must I be subjected to in order to get this working? HELP! Is there a God at all that can help me? If not, I'm turning to Budda.

cheap as hell's generic serial cable that I got from eBay, I don't think it's the cable. Do I have to set somthing in the phone in order to get it connecting?

Can your handset find any other bluetooth devices?

I was sent a defective T68i under warranty replacement. It could not discover or be discovered by my bluetooth dongle or any other bluetooth phone.

Do the usual, check you have the correct port and then reduce the speed of the conenction to around 96000 to start with. Then try half baud/full baud and see if you can get the WinXP software to use the port rather than third party software. Also, are you sure that you are lining up the IR ports?

Trust me, everything is working properly. I am not using Bluetooth or irDA. The only connection I'm using is a serial cable designed to work with the T68i. My phone is not defective, none of my hardware are defective. Only the software is defective (and a little possiblity that I may also be defective in the intelligence area). None of the Ericsson T68i software will see my phone once I connect my phone to my PC. It searches, and searches every time, but no phone shows up as being connected. My T68i is connected to my COM 2 port on my machine, the speed is set to 9600, and going lower, still, no results. The only thing I got working is using the Float's Mobile Agent program, but for some reason, it's very unstable with my T68i. Sometimes it will send pics to my phone, but other times, it will not (even though the status bar says "sending xxxxxx.gif". A gazillion hours later, it still says "sending xxxxx.gif".

Hi Hao4Hurley,

I empathise with you. I have the same setup with you except I am running Windows 2000 Prof. Now, I am almost certain it is not the software, at least not entirely. I can synch and connect with no problems by IRDA. If you have access to IRDA i suggest you give that a go.

I thought it was my cable too, but when I got it replaced and it still doesnt work. I am trying to do further testing now to see if it is really the cable.

If I was you I would go and buy an irda adaptor such as the MA620, I have the MA600 and my phone connects every time.
I had a Nokia 8210 a couple of years ago and bought a cable to connect that to my pc but it would not work at all, I had to buy the MA600 for it to connect. If your phone has irda or bluetooth that is what you should be using to connect your phone to your pc because that is what it is designed for.The cables do seem to be very unreliable.
Hope this helps.
