> P800 Bluetooth - Bonding Failed
Bookmark topic
Hi,
Any of you guys got Bluetooth working ? or seen this error.
I can't seem to pair my PC (using a Belkin USB dongle) and my P800. When I select ADD on the P800, it finds my desktop, but as soon as I enter the passkey and click DONE, I get BONDING FAILED.
If I try to discover from my PC, and get a similar error.
Any ideas ?

Hi mate had a similar problem with my epox bt dongle and p800. it was fine with my 7650 and t68. I managed to get it done but dont know how. Firstly turn your bluetooth to discoverable and try it from the PC using my bluetooth places to search for your phone which i did. You will see that when detected you should get bt serial connection if your phone is detected. double click to connect. it should now come up on your phone that computer wants to connect and enter passkey. then hopefully your computer will ask for one. When this is done you should see it is connected. Then click your pc suite and tick all the ports and hopefully it should connect.

My P800 hardly ever connects with my HBH-30. I usually have to turn the bluetooth on first in order for them to work. I thing the bluetooth connection is an issue solved with a software upgrade but dont count me on that.

Ok, I think I found the problem.
In the bluetooth software on my PC I had to enable COM5 (as this is where the connection is made), however I also needed to enable COM4, although COM4 came up with a connection failure message.
Without COM4 enabled, COM5 would not connect.

Glad you are connecting OK...I read in one of the SE .txt help files that they recommend all the bluetooth COM ports are ticked. I have these all enabled, my connections are now more stable. One thing I have noticed is that I can't do a Backup & Restore over bluetooth.....any one else get this?

yeah backup & restore needs the cradle as it involves powering off etc.. the more i think about this the more it makes me think that at some stage firmware updates will also be done this way.
With regard to bluetooth, i think im going to give up now and resign myself to carrying the cradle to work and back.
I can connect up ok, 60% of the time, but it's only a matter of minutes before it dies again, clean install of XP and latest bt adapter drivers + the SE sync software 1.1.1.
The usb cradle is brilliant, except if you lose CD1 (and I left mine at home today) you can't get the usb drivers from the cradle.. very thoughtfully they haven't been put on the SE support site.
Thanks SE...
