Im using software from PacketVideo, the same company as the software on the P800. You can download software to convert various movie files into MP4. Its a trial verison though, get about 60 day trial on download.

Hi all,

Got my P800 three months ago and much impressed. Its taken this long to get my head around all the functions. But looking at where you guys are I am still at the intro stage.

One thing fustrated me no end was getting MP4 which I have managed thanks to you all. But I still need to know how I can take my fav dvd film and extract say a clip and convert this to MP4. As you all will know the dvd are in .VOB ext.

Any comments?

i think u'll have to use a program to rip the DVD to an mpeg file try one of these! and then convert the mpeg to an mp4 with pvauthor or mpegable or such like.

I found QuickTime to be the best program for converting from almost every format to MP4 format.

Also - Apple have released their 3GPP component today,
along with QuickTime 6.3!
