Just wondering how many people are having problems connecting to the P800 through the bluetooth serial port, and which software they are using?
Mine use to work after i reset the computer, but now i can't get it to work at all. My Bluetooth software version is CXC12529 R2C, and phone version is R1D CXC162002.

No, it has been an adventure. Go to the Technical forum here @ esato and have a look at some of the recent threads... they have pointers to the 1.3.2.7 version for popular USB BT dongles.
I installed them, and though the software isn't perfect (still), it does work. I can sync and surf over Bluetooth.
Still don't know how to make the PC automatically start the Bluetooth serial connection when the P800 comes into range. Anyone have some tips for this?
cheers

No you're far from being alone, my first P800 had faulty BT, wasn't able to send. This one I have now is not too good at it either, serialport connection doesn't work. Sometimes it has problems to send over BT.
And why haven't SE implemented FTP on it??? 7650 had that, and it made it very easy to send objects to it, just rightclick and send to BT 7650.
And people say that Nokia are worthless when it comes to BT???
Hope the new SW will fix the BT.

I think the bluetooth in the current firmware for the P800 is just bugged....it should work the same as the T68i's did in the end which was perfection.
The P800 lacks many services (like file transfer) and the serial port is just a nightmare to get working (although possible)
I hope they realise this and fix it promptly.

Hi,
I dont seem to have any problems using bluetooth.
I use a Tecom dongle on my PC at home and my Toshiba Laptop has built in bluetooth.
On the desktop/laptop I have to select the correct port for the bluetooth serial socket in the P800 Sync software settings.
Then I switch on bluetooth on the phone and then connect to the serial port in the bluetooth software on the PC. Then I do a search from the PC/laptop.
Its best to take off any passkeys etc so that you know its working beforehand and then set your passkey authentication up.
I then add the PC/laptop to the list on my P800 bluetooth settings.
Voila, thats all.

There does seem to be file transfer on the phone, because Send To works sometimes, but not reliably. It would be much better if the phone could initiate the connection or it happened automatically, though.

The file transfer that does work via send to is using obex push protocol...it does work, so does the sync software, what i'm saying is that the P800 just does not work anywhere near as slick as the T68i did on bluetooth.....it is purely firmware to fix the problem and i am confident they will fix it....i sent Sony Ericsson Data Support a series of emails (which they did respond to) about this but i didn't get a definitive answer.
Here's hoping they sort it out soon.

Greetz!
After a couple of hours with the R1D, couldn't manage to send data to a t68i
I can send stuff from a t69i to the P800, but can't do it the other way around not even after pairing them or putting them discoverable...!
This is starting to piss me off! And I don't even wanna think about if I try pairing the P800 with a PC!
