> P800 For Canada + Firmware Questions
Bookmark topic
Greetings,
I’m trying to get my hands on a P800 and looking at several different methods. I’m located in Canada and the phone will work with Fido GSM (They have a great unlimited GPRS deal too!). I’m debating on either buying the US phone from Sony Ericsson shop and getting a friend in the US to send it to me, or buying a European version (needs power plug adapter) of the phone from puremobile.ca. They said they will ship within Canada, but as I noted it’s the European version… does that have any major differences besides the power plug when used in North America?
My second question, if I buy the phone in the US or overseas and take it to Canada and then there is a firmware update, what happens? Do I just download it like a PC driver or do I need to get a shop to install it for me? Which would be a problem if no shops in Canada are selling them K
Lastly, and off-topic somewhat, does anyone have much experience with using their P800 and OS/X on the Mac (with BT)?
Thanks in advance!

Also open to anyone who has better suggestions on getting the phone to Canada, any good retailers that I don't know about?

Hi!
I haven't got all of your answers, but as for the upgrade: you will have to go a servicecentre, though there has been rumours about implementing a homeupgrade feature in the phone (wouldn't count on it). I haven't got the phone myself, but I read this is the way u do it...
