If we are going to get the MMS-update on monday... What are you going to do? As far as I know, there is only a few operators that's ready for MMS. I live in Norway and luckily the operators (Telenor and NetCom) have their network MMS-ready, but I know that these two operators are very ahead of the other operators in the rest of Europe (and maybe the world...?). When/if I get the new MMS-update I don't know what to use it for... If there is a photoalbum, that would be used very frequently, but the MMS-thing I think, will just be an application that I won't use so much... What about you guys? Any of you that have thought about this scenario? You get the MMS-software and so...??

Cant do anything but agree with you. I think all "common" users are going to stay with oridnary SMS for a long while, until all phones/Networks supports it.
If NetCom is ready I guess ComvIq Sweden is it to. Same owner if im not completley wrong

Don't know if Comviq is ready, heard a while ago that the were NOT ready... Can't confirm... But I know that NetCom and Telenor here in Norway are ready. It's maybe only a few more operators in Europe that is MMS-ready, so there is no hurry with that new software! The most wanted feature right now is faster T9 and more memory to the backgroundpics (photoalbum)! Am I right?

Yeah I agree with you, we'll be able to change the screensaver, erase some of the crappy backgrounds and save our own, that's enough in the beginning and when we get bored of that we can enjoy the MMS when it's released on our networks....

Operator doesnt have to be MMS ready. You can send MMS-messages thru MMSC. I believe
will tell more about this on tuesday.[ This Message was edited by: mikaalto on 2002-03-03 00:50 ]

Yes, it's always different ways to use new technology. But that is not my point! What's the point with MMS on our phones when barely no operators have this feature ready yet? And how many of your friends can you be able to send these MMS-messages? It's a bit "blown-up" I think... My biggest wish for the update is faster T9 and more backgroundpics. That's enough for me right now!
More opinions? Comments? Agree/disagree???

One thing I finds really interesting is if MMS doesnt breaks as its though. And WAP/GPRS didnt break at all, not as the Companies expected.
Then I think were having a major problem!!!
Who or should I more say what should finance the hole WCDMA thing?
I can tell for sure that it isnt free!
And when the operators dont have the money? Who has?
Just another upcoming thought!

Might not kick as many ass as they wants

Everybody's been calling it "the MMS upgrade", now all you think about is MMS. Well, as far as I know, MMS support is not the only feature that will be added. What happened to the picture phonebook ? More background slots ? More .. I don't know, I forgot, but you get my point.

We all just call it the "MMS upgrade" because it is the biggest thing in the upgrade. But it isnīt the most important there for. I think that you will have more use for the picture album (image browser) and all other stuff that the new software will come with.
Making your own themes, melody composer etc
