I just got a HBH-30 and after searching the archives am now really confused....

What can I expect it to do with my P800?
Can I get magic word to work?
I can make calls by pressing the button and speaking my caller id?
Can I use it to record words in my phone?
Is there a way to permenantly set 'transfer to headset'?

The docs with the headset are useless... they say read the phone handbook which says nothing about bluetooth headsets!

you can use the phone part, but you can not use it listening to mp3

> Can I get magic word to work?

I didn't get the magic word to work, but all the other voice control features

> I can make calls by pressing the button and speaking my caller id?

yes, and it works really great for me!

> Can I use it to record words in my phone?

I record in the phone directly, the quality (i.e. recognition rate) is much better. I don't remember if recording thru the headset is working

> Is there a way to permenantly set 'transfer to headset'?

yes: Phone - Edit - Preferences - Handsfree - Bluetooth: Preferred sound device: Headset

You can't get magic word to work over a bluetooth headset - there would need to be an open connection between phone and headset permanantly, waiting for you to say the word, and that would of course reduce the standby time to what is currently the talktime of the headset. Whole point in the BT headset is the connection is idle on standby, thus conserving power - to activate (i.e. 'wake up') the connection, you need to press a button on the headset - which also enables voicecommands automatically once the connection is woken, thus negating the need to press the button, say the magic word and then speaking the command!
