nope, the flash does not have its own power supply.

It gets its power from the phone battery. I assume it will drain power, but i dont think u will be using the flash for every picture!

the link in the first post states that this is infact a high intesity light, meaning that it does not 'flash' as such when u take a picture. It simply improves the lighting conditions when activated.... thats what i make of it anyways.
